TSSS in the USA
28 July - 4 August 2007 at Seattle University, WA .

The dynamic, global city of Seattle is a thriving hub of early music, providing the perfect setting for the Tallis Scholars Summer School in the USA. The course was launched in 2005 at the request of the many Americans who have attended or hoped to attend our UK courses. Located within steps of Seattle's downtown core, Seattle University offers excellent facilities both for comfortable living and for music-making - including the celebrated Chapel of St Ignatius.

"I had the most amazing singing week ever"
"I will remember this for as long as I live"
"absolutely brilliant"
"a truly magical experience"

Do you have a passion for Renaissance music? Why not join Peter Phillips and members of the Tallis Scholars for a week of complete indulgence in some of the most beautiful music ever written. Activities include choral rehearsals with Peter Phillips, sung services (Vespers, Compline), individual vocal tuition, talks and workshops, morning vocal warm-ups, field trips, The Tudor Choir in concert with members of the Tallis Scholars, and a Gala Concert by TSSS participants, directed by Peter Phillips. TSSS is dedicated to exploring our great heritage of renaissance choral music, and to developing a performance style appropriate to it, as pioneered by The Tallis Scholars. The course is open to singers aged 16 years and over, and we welcome participants from across the globe.

We work on concert and service repertoire in a myriad of small and medium sized groups - there are opportunities to set up your own groups, and to get together to try out new repertoire from the library. Small groups perform to each other in an informal concert, and some go on to sing in the Gala Concert. TSSS is an intensive singing experience - and enormous fun too.
