Established in the UK in 2000, TSSS has quickly earned a reputation as one of the finest courses of its kind in the world, attracting singers from the US, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Iceland, Poland, Peru and across Europe. The age range spans 16 to 74 years. The courses have sparked a wave of passion for renaissance choral music, and have spawned new amateur and semi-professional groups globally as singers take home their experience to share with others. "I took away so many 'pearls of wisdom' that I will
be inspired for an entire year, if not longer!" Do you have a passion for Renaissance music? Why not join Peter Phillips and members of the Tallis Scholars for a week of complete indulgence in some of the most beautiful music ever written. Activities include choral rehearsals with Peter Phillips, sung services (Evensong, Compline), individual vocal tuition, talks and workshops, morning vocal warm-ups, field trips and a Gala Concert by TSSS participants, directed by Peter Phillips. TSSS is dedicated to exploring our great heritage of renaissance choral music, and to developing a performance style appropriate to it, as pioneered by The Tallis Scholars. The course is open to singers aged 16 years and over, and we welcome participants from across the globe. We work on concert and service repertoire in a myriad of small and medium sized groups - there are opportunities to set up your own groups, and to get together to try out new repertoire from the library. Small groups perform to each other in an informal concert, and some of the small groups go on to sing in the Gala Concert, to complement the full choir works. TSSS is an intensive singing experience - and enormous fun too. "I've never seen such devotion to helping others Oakham UK, 7-14 July 2007...
